arent we all blind sometimes?

joy. i stayed after school to test for the UIL (an academic competition) Maths team. ("MANDATORY MEETING!")

we did the timed test. i got -11. which, by the way, was fourth best and i am therefore in the team. a freshman got 12 and SB got 7. i could have gotten 1 had i stopped after question 3. i should probably explain - you get 5 for right answers, -9 for a wrong ones and skipped ones. you only count the ones you've done. i did 9 and got 5 right.

i would also like to blame Norah Jones for singing about Going Away With Her and Feeling the Same Way All Over Again and yellow grass that grows kneehigh and rain on tin roofs. i don't even like her that much except for her gorgeous voice. i was going to laugh and walk out. but i laughed and stayed. curses!

i was sort of hoping that i'd be too crap to get in the team. now i'll be making a fool out of myself. wait - i only have one friend on the team? i was expecting a party o' gals. they're all boys. exclusively boys with origins in the Asian continent. stereo-fucking-types.

afterwards, i stood around Zaib and her friend, who is organising a cultural diversity show. she wants me to talk on stage because of my, uh... dual-cultureness. i had to decline. she has made me feel very guilty.

oh, and they were writing notes about me in special Model United Nations code. something about "him" and "Russia"? i don't like notes anymore.

bah. i have two tests and a quiz tomorrow. not to mention an award to pretend to give out and one to pretend to accept in Speech. i'm thinking the Ivor Novello award for best song for Strange and Beautiful?
