arent we all blind sometimes?

i dont have much to say today. (we'll see.) i'm just passing time till angel.

karen called me today; the first person my age i've talked to in weeks. she said that she didnt tell me to go to french connection, but to go to republic that sells fcuk t-shirts. for 7 which they are sold for only 5 in its proper shop. who gives anyway, i'm a subtle person, i don't buy t-shirts with a big fat'FCUK' on them.

accordign to karen, it turns out that everyone is out of the country. except her, who is going to camp and jenni. i wanted to see MIIB, but k is working and j would probably want to go to the cinema nearest her, which isnt the one i can get to. which is lame.

during the convo (god i hate that abbrev., but hey, its my diary so i can do whatever i want with it.), karen said thta she doesnt do films, but since she's working, then in camp and all, i'm gonna tell y'all 'bout a korean film i saw last week.

(1. i've just lost my last reader;
2. my definition of the summer holidays is filmfest. wait till i get to houston.)

anyway. this wacky korean film. its called 'my sassy girl'. (here's the official site, but you probably cant read korean, so dont bother going.

instead, why not go read its review at TIMEasia? or the one here with pretty pictures?

it starts off slow, with annoying slapstick, but the moment the second half starts (big blue words bounce out to tell you) it gets good.

one more thing: it has to be watched in korean. i have a personal vendetta against the actress who did the voice of the 'sassy girl'. she cant act, slurs her words together and her name is miriam yeung.

slap my thigh and call me cheeky-boo, but i have a thing against chinese people called miriam. its such a jewish name. i have no problem with non-jewish people called david, i mean, david must be a very jewish name, right? jacob, issac, joshua, elijah (hell, no), michael (hehe. do angels have nationalities? no wait, michael rosenbaum is jewish), ruth, sarah, no problemo.

miriam? no.

you know? its only because i hate miriam yeung. she is the poster child for the downward spiraling hong kong entertainment industry - no talent.

i don't despise hk films. i love early jackie chan flicks and the ones with sammo hung.

my favourite slapstick film ever is this film from the eighties called 'pom pom'. its about a pair of dumb cops, there's a short guy, then a dumbass with a funky shanghai accent called beethoven cos of his wacko hair. i saw the sequel today. very funny.
