remember sean maguire? ewan on "off centre", my all time favourite sitcom which no one else has seen?
well, he was a pop-star back in the early 90's (remember peter andre?). the early 90's when RUTH (one of matt hales' bands) was trying to become famous. well, he (SM) was on live and kicking, the bit where they scrutinse videos, and apparently, he dissed RUTH bad. (i've actually seen said video, but it was really fuzzy, and although i didn't recognise sean maguire, i considered the possibility of him being on it. go my intuition.
so here's what matt hales said in alan:
"It was particularly sweet to meet Sean Maguire who had been so snide on the Video Galleon all those months ago and notice that I was both taller and clearer skinned than the jut-jawed ape boy. No offence mate. If that's possible."
heh. taller and clearer skinned. i remember the people in live and kicking said that RUTH wouldn't have been born 10 years ago. and matt hales is probably 5 years older than sean maguire. and he looks younger.
who's more successful now, jut-jawed ape boy?
i was watching big, fat video interview with matt hales on bbc 6 yesterday. stuff i learnt. when matt hales was 15, he aspired to be like don johnson. he nearly got kidnapped once. he drives a blue VW golf (1. nothing to do with the advert; 2. no, i'm not a stalker).
poor thing! he got whacked on the back of the head with a semi-automatic gun. i looooooove matt hales.
read this on soem issue of ALAN:
"'Hello Helen" said Matt Hales "Have you seen our new van? It's got seats in the back!'
"He seemed remarkably pleased at this state of affairs. I occasionally suspect that Matt might be a little simple. It's often the way with musical visionaries."
underneath that, there's a photo of him looking a little simple. the caption reads: "Matt Hales: a little simple?"
