The cloning of Chevy Chase followed a day-long marathon session of Death Is Not An Option. Once the field of all the world's most objectionable potential sexual partners was narrowed down to the least appealing option of all -- one Chevy Chase -- the Geneticists agreed to attempt a seemingly impossible task: to take the DNA from Chevy Chase -- a person they all agreed was the least sexy person they could think of -- and somehow make his clone sexy. They shaped Chase's raw DNA into Michael Rosenbaum. As they tinkered with their design, they put him to work in a venue where there would be no chance of anyone spotting him: a sitcom on the WB. Sure enough, no one took notice of Rosenbaum; it would seem that the clone was a little too close to the original, in that no one thought he was at all attractive nor entertaining. Then, on a casual visit to the lab, Rosenbaum stood a little too close to an experimental neutrino observatory; the radiation caused all his hair to fall out. He returned to the lab in a panic, but the Geneticists were delighted at the sight of him, since their wish had come true: he still had Chase's pouty lips, narrow nose, and smug grin, but without hair, Rosenbaum was -- quite unlike Chase -- white-hot. The only question was, how could they ensure that Rosenbaum would remain bald? One phone call to the WB later, Rosenbaum had a solid gig playing bald supervillain Lex Luthor on the new teen drama Smallville. Back at the lab, the Hollywood Geneticists toasted with champagne, and secretly imagined Rosenbaum -- their most impressive victory yet -- in a sweaty clinch with co-star Tom Welling.
