arent we all blind sometimes?

August already? I've been here for more than a year then. I'd show you what I wrote a year ago, but it's too embarrassing. I was still a Smallville fan. And now I can't even type "Smallville" without my fingers flinching. Oh no wait! That was 2002. I was already bitching about the Coffee Republic staff. 1st August 2003: I registered at Langham.

I arrived on these shores (like I've done every summer and one Easter since ever)on 29th July last year. Incidentally, my last entry written living in the UK was my 800th. This would be my 1260th.

What have I accomplished this year besides (sort of) adjusting to living in American suburbia?

I moved to LJ - my first entry was written on 12th October but I didn't start properly updating till December.

I started posting in earnest in the Aqualung board because I had so much free time. It's a full time job, you know. I would have made a great fanmod back in those days. Remember when all those new fans came after Matt the monkey's appearance on Nevermind the Buzzcocks? It got very busy after that. But that was another phase, now, like Smallville. Except Smallville was always really shit.

I met Matt and Ben. Best thing that happened to me last (academic) year. Of course, had I stayed in London, I would have seen them four or five times in real gigs - the two in Villiers Theatre to launch Still Life and Brighter Than Sunshine, the Intimate Duo at St James' Church, full band at Shepherds Bush and was the Hitsheet Winter Warmer Bush Hall gig last December?

Pau Pau's death was unarguably the most important thing that happened. I had never lost anyone before. This made Still Life the most important album I own.

I don't believe I have to go to school tomorrow. C'est trop depressing! It's Lobo Express - a fun-filled morning of schedule-receiving, photo-taking, book-receiving and locker-opening. This time I'll know what to do. And I'll have friends. Finding them is another matter. No wait, I have their phone numbers because I have my Little Pink Book now!*

Dear HK friends (except Denise, you are free from this), if you buy me this magazine, I will love you for ever and ever and reimburse you twice for your troubles. (Or send you heart-warming presents during the long British winter):

I have sunk to pathetic new lows but I can't care less if C'est Moi is a pornographic magazine.

*Actually, I have them stored in my phone, but Address books rock in that tangible, not-really-necessary-unless-phone-is-stolen-or-lost way.
