arent we all blind sometimes?

hello there. im really bored. just talked to meera, but she had to go to her piano lesson. good luck to her.

prince charming. did his parents name him that? does he become king charming? was it a nickname like william the bloody? but is he even charming? i saw sleeping beauty and he wasnt particularly charming. and anyway, do all girls want their prince to be charming? what about prince broody-and-tortured? prince ... prince... matty? one track mind. couldnt think of anything else.

running out of things to say so ill tell you about my dream this morning. it was the end of exams so we all went to a random house to celebrate. we were staying the night and a dozen of us were sharing 2 rooms. very odd, like all dreams. and we were generally running between the rooms and not sleeping. but i remember going online on a computer with a massive 20 screen. the internet is important also in dreamland.

i listened to RUTH in the dream. what i my brain thinks is RUTH, anyway. there is a song, which does exist, that goes round and round and round. heard it on stephens site.

speaking of songs, i was on a coach some indeterminate time units ago (copied much? guess who from) when i heard a song. i thought: what a cool song. it went do do do do do do do do, do do do do do do do do... which is useful for googling purposes. i got off the coach one day and was walking home when i heard a man walk past, singing, do do do do do do do do, do do do do do do do do...

i was watching Six Feet Under and Good Morning Vietnam last night when i heard it in an advert for a Suzanne Vega CD. from the advert, i deducted that the song was called Toms Diner, because i somehow remembered a surprising amount of the lyrics from that one listen. here they are:

I am sitting
In the morning
At the diner
On the corner

I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee

And he fills it
Only halfway
And before
I even argue

He is looking
Out the window
At somebody
Coming in

"It is always
Nice to see you"
Says the man
Behind the counter

To the woman
Who has come in
She is shaking
Her umbrella

And I look
The other way
As they are kissing
Their hellos

I'm pretending
Not to see them
Instead
I pour the milk

I open
Up the paper
There's a story
Of an actor

Who had died
While he was drinking
It was no one
I had heard of

And I'm turning
To the horoscope
And looking
For the funnies

When I'm feeling
Someone watching me
And so
I raise my head

There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?

No she does not
Really see me
Cause she sees
Her own reflection

And I'm trying
Not to notice
That she's hitching
Up her skirt

And while she's
Straightening her stockings
Her hair
Is getting wet

Oh, this rain
It will continue
Through the morning
As I'm listening

To the bells
Of the cathedral
I am thinking
Of your voice...

And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time
Before the rain began...

I finish up my coffee
It's time to catch the train
