between the hours of 2:30 and 4:30 am, i was watching 'little buddha'. what a load of crap. i would have failed my 3rd year RS exam if i revised off that. its basically about a boy in seattle who could be a rebirth of a lama. this is interlinked with the life of siddhartha gautama, the buddha, who the boy is learning about. all this is lame, so why did i watch it?

the reason has a name, and his name is keanu reeves. that man is too hot to be the buddha. but he couldn't do the accent to save his life and he looked very un-indian. but he looked good. even with thick eyeliner.

as always, the inaccuracies of the story annoyed me. although the monk used the word rebirth, he was describing reincarnation when he explained rebirth. it is the whole thing with 5 heaps (skandhas, i am so revising 3rd year RS). when you die, you fall back into 5 piles of - form, sensations, perceptions, mental formations and consciousness. the buddha didn't believe in the soul going to another body - reincarnation. that is why it is possible for 3 children to be rebirths of the lama.

the dream queen maya had during the conception of siddhartha had a red elephant with 6 trunks which entered her womb via her right side. the film had some normal elephant baby rolling around with the queen.

and then the monk said that the buddha was not a god. which is fine. he said he was like jesus. jesus is god, dumbass. aren't monks supposed to be educated?

all the buddhist stuff was pretty fake. probably cos it was made by some italian or someone. crap but i taped it. for keanu.
