its called tempest cos a series of tornados hit smallville during the prom, dance, what do they at smallville high call it anyways? whitney leaves to join the army. so he IS older than all of them. lionel shuts down the Luthorcorp plant and buys the Smallville bank and threatens to foreclose the mortgages on Lex's employees as a way of payback for some of Lex's plots against his daddy. a luthorcorp spy finds out clark's secret, but jonathon stops him. clark and chloe nearly kiss, but he has to go rescue lana, whgets sucked up a tornado. apparently the cliffhanger is that lionel gets trapped under some debris and lex has to decide whether to save him or not. that might be what they talk about when thay talked about lex's "bad seeds" being planted - he leaves his dad to rot in hell. good on him. and clark has a rich grandad.
